A gentle travel checklist
Plan familiar comforts, safe equipment and pauses before setting off together.
Travel can change an animal’s familiar routine. Planning ahead makes it easier to keep the day predictable and respond to what your companion needs.
Pack the familiar
Bring the usual food, a water container, a familiar blanket and the equipment your animal already uses comfortably. Keep essential items easy to reach during the trip.
Check the destination
Confirm pet rules, safe places to rest and the practical route before departure. For travel across borders, check current official requirements well in advance; rules vary by destination and can change.
Allow time to settle
On arrival, start with a quiet space and familiar routines. Give your animal time to explore at their own pace. If travel causes persistent distress or a health concern, ask a veterinarian for advice.
